GURNEE, IL — Northwestern Medicine plans to open a new health center in Gurnee this week.
Services offered at the clinic once it opens on Tuesday include family medicine, sports medicine, allergy and immunology, radiology and immediate care. The location will also have an on-site lab.
The family medicine physicians will offer diagnosis and treatment for everything from the common cold to chronic illnesses in addition to routine screenings, annual check-ups and other preventive medicine services, according to a news release from Northwestern Medicine.
The immediate care center, located at 6155 Grand Avenue in Gurnee, offers extended hours, open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day. The Gurnee location is staffed by licensed physicians who are trained to evaluate and treat a variety of medical conditions in both adult and pediatric patients, treating minor illnesses, minor accidents and skin conditions. The center also offers vaccinations, X-rays, lab orders and tests.
“We are looking forward to serving Gurnee and the surrounding communities, providing patients with high quality, compassionate care, close to where they live and work,” said Richard Clark, a family medicine physician and Northwestern Medicine Gurnee medical director. “In addition to our team of family medicine physicians, an allergist, and a nurse practitioner, our Immediate Care Center offers an easy-to-access alternative to waiting in an emergency room for patients who have a minor health issue and need to see a healthcare provider quickly. And, our on-site imaging center provides easy in and out access to x-rays, CT and MRI scans, mammograms, and bone density testing.”
